Chicago is a lively and vibrant city that is home to over 2.7 million people. As the third largest metropolis in the U.S., Chicago has everything one could ask for from professional sports, comedy, performing arts, museums, architecture, music, and amazing food. Nothing is better than summers in Chicago when residents can enjoy over 29 miles of beach in the city. Residents at Rush live in many neighborhoods all throughout the city including Wicker Park, West Loop, Bucktown, South Loop, Old Town, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, and Streeterville.

New interns are welcomed into the program at a welcome dinner and drinks celebration in June by coating them with their new Rush Orthopaedics jackets.

Midwest Orthopedics at Rush Holiday Party
Residents join the faculty and staff of Midwest Orthopaedics for a holiday party with dinner and a live band. Last year’s event was held at U.S. Cellular field, the home of the Chicago White Sox.
Senior Thesis Day & Graduation
After thesis day each year, the Department hosts a graduation dinner for families and friends of all residents in celebration of the graduating class.
Each month, a member of our faculty kindly hosts the residents for a night to discuss several articles in their field. Past events have been held out on Lake Michigan on a boat, faculty residences, and at many of the great local restaurants.
