Welcome to the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center! We are proud to offer a unique, challenging, fulfilling, and enjoyable residency program that trains the future leaders of orthopaedic surgery. Our department is home to orthopaedic surgeons that have been continually ranked among America’s best. Our department is one of the nation’s leaders in private and NIH research funding with many well-established research programs in cartilage restoration, tribiology, bone biology, biomechanics, biomaterials, and biochemistry. These resources and opportunities allow Rush surgeons to impact and influence their respective specialties by remaining on the leading edge of contemporary orthopaedics. Rush orthopaedic surgeons have been instrumental in advancing the field of orthopaedic surgery through leading the development of minimally invasive hip and knee arthroplasty, cartilage restoration, minimally invasive spine surgery, prosthetic management of childhood cancers, among many others.
